Nate Perry
Software engineer at AWS working on Edge Services. I build scalable cloud infrastructure, secure distributed systems, and the occasional iOS app.

A cloud engineer focused on reliable infrastructure and well-designed APIs.
The short version — I care about infra that's reliable, APIs that are pleasant, and shipping products that people actually use.
I got into software through GIS — starting at Anne Arundel Community College, then a CS degree with a Geospatial Information Sciences minor at Maryland. At UMD I built interactive campus mapping tools used daily by thousands of students.
I spent two years on AWS's National Security Practice building secure serverless geospatial APIs, ETL pipelines at scale, and reusable cloud building blocks adopted across 10+ internal teams. I'm now on AWS Edge Services shipping control-plane APIs, encrypted data-plane paths, and central config management for edge-deployed hardware.
Outside the day job I'm building Setlist, a live-music discovery platform. More at rfp.nrperry.com and geo.nrperry.com.

Five roles across cloud, geospatial, and edge systems.
From a UMD GIS internship to shipping edge infrastructure at AWS — each stop compounded on the last.
- Designed and built customer-facing control-plane APIs and automated deployment pipelines, enabling scalable onboarding and lifecycle management for edge services while meeting strict customer security and compliance requirements.
- Designed and implemented encrypted data-plane pathways providing persistent, secure connectivity into Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions.
- Built a centralized, secure configuration management service to distribute, validate, and roll back hardware configuration updates across edge-deployed devices.

Setlist
A live-music discovery platform helping fans find local shows and artists share events, replacing fragmented sources like venue pages and social media.

Interval Timer
SwiftUI interval timer featuring clean, animated progress graphics. Published on the App Store with a 5-star rating.

A* Pathfinding Visualizer
An interactive visualization of the A* pathfinding algorithm, built with Pygame.
